Floors Castle Horse Trials
Floors Castle Horse Trials are run over the glorious parkland in front of Floors Castle. The event has been running for nearly 25 years and has established itself as a firm favourite among riders, owners and spectators. The next horse trials is set to be held on Friday 15th – Sunday 17th May 2015 offering three days of exciting competition.

Borders book Festival
Celebrate summer with a visit to one of Britain’s friendliest book festivals. As well as seeing your favourite authors at their events, there are lots of things to do within the setting of the National Trust for Scotland’s glorious Harmony Garden. Entry to the garden is FREE.

Kelso Ridings and Civic Week
Civic Week was started in 1937 by John Scott, baker and Provost of the town so that Kelso could have a Common Riding similar to the other Border towns. Since then, apart from the War years, a worthy Laddie has been selected with his Right and Left Hand Men (the Laddies from the previous two years) to lead his mounted followers in the ride-outs into the surrounding countryside and to the local villages.

Border Union Agricultural Show
Traditionally the annual Show is held on the last Friday and Saturday of July each year in Springwood Park, forty-six acres of parkland on the outskirts of Kelso. The Show includes competition for Horses, Ponies,Cattle, Sheep, Donkeys, Goats, Poultry,Rabbits, Shepherds’ Crooks, Horse Shoeing, Young Farmers Stock Judging and Industrial Arts, with over five hundred open classes. There are approximately 200 trade stands including farm machinery, crafts and gifts, motor vehicles, clothing, equestrian goods, food outlets and furniture retailers. There is also the ‘Flavours of the Borders’ Food Fair, a Children’s Fun Fair, Catering and Bars. These are open on both days and there is Main Ring family entertainment on the Saturday afternoon.
